2017 Origin Energy Shareholder Resolution
If you own shares in a company, then you can have a say in what it does.
Origin Energy is one of Australia’s biggest oil and gas companies. The company is continuing to spend billions of dollars exploring for more fossil fuel reserves, even though research shows there is already more oil and gas owned by companies than can be safely burned if we are to hold global temperatures below 2 degrees Celsius of warming above pre-industrial levels.
Market Forces wants to tell the Origin board that enough is enough. We can do this by proposing resolutions at the company’s AGM.
In Australia it takes 100 plus shareholders to lodge a resolution at a company AGM. Can you join us as one of the 100?
If you are a shareholder in Origin Energy and would like to help lodge the resolutions, please complete the web form below. By doing so you will appoint a representative of Market Forces to act on your behalf for the purpose of lodging resolutions and supporting statements. Click here to see an example of the Agency Agreement.
Alternatively you can download, print, complete, sign and mail the resolutions to us which has the same effect. Download the forms via the buttons below. If you choose to mail the resolutions to us, please do so before Friday, 18 August 2017 and send the complete document to: Market Forces, c/o Friends of the Earth, P.O. Box 222, Fitzroy, Victoria, 3065
If you want to know more there is a FAQ here.
The Shareholder Resolutions consist of a Special Resolution intended to amend the constitution of the Company to allow for an Ordinary Resolution to be put, and three Ordinary Resolutions. All four resolutions will be lodged once at least 100 shareholders have agreed to the Agency Agreement. Click on the button below to view the resolution and supporting statement.
