• Thank you for taking the time to fill out this survey. Its purpose is to understand staff views regarding Allianz's contribution to global warming, in particular via its investment in the Adani Ports company, which in 2020 became part of a new thermal coal mine development in Australia.

It is anonymous and takes two minutes to complete.

This survey is organised by Market Forces, an independent environment group that advocates for finance and investment to be directed away from activities that harm the environment and towards activities that protect and enhance it.

  • One of the projects that Allianz would not insure or invest in is the controversial Adani Carmichael thermal coal project in Australia (90 major companies have so far ruled out any support for this project). Carmichael could become the biggest coal mine in Australia, and it would help open up a massive new thermal coal basin in an area that is currently not mined.

One of the companies involved in this project is Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone (APSEZ). The biggest known bondholder in APSEZ is Allianz (via PIMCO), with over US$100 million invested.
