Snap action: Stop ANZ, NAB, and Westpac loaning $750 million to Santos

ANZ, NAB and Westpac are just days away from deciding on a new $750 million loan to polluting gas company Santos. The banks are due to announce their decision on August 23rd.

It is staggering that while Commonwealth Bank cuts ties with polluting oil and gas companies, ANZ, NAB and Westpac are arranging a new loan which would enable Santos’ massive and dangerous fossil fuel expansion plans.

Santos is bulldozing ahead with new oil and gas projects which are opposed by communities and would have a devastating impact on our climate. The big banks must start cutting ties with this climate wrecker, rather than showering it with cash.
