Hi NAB, I've recently become aware that you loaned US$100 million to the huge climate-wrecking APLNG gas export project in 2019. APLNG is now seeking an expansion which would enable another 223 million tonnes of CO2 from up to 7,700 new gas wells. It's abundantly clear this expansion runs counter to your support for the Paris Agreement. Leading Australian climate scientists have told us there's “no room for expansion of the gas industry” if global warming is to be kept below 1.5 degrees. Ahead of the planned update to your oil and gas policy this year, can you please confirm you will rule out funding projects and companies expanding the scale of the polluting gas (and broader fossil fuel) industry?
