Calling for Paris-alignment
Local Government Super has supported a number of shareholder resolutions calling on companies to align with the goals of the Paris Agreement.
Local Government Super is a member of the Climate Action 100+, which aims to encourage 100+ emissions-intensive companies to “Take action to reduce greenhouse gas emissions across their value chain, consistent with the Paris Agreement’s goal of limiting global average temperature increase to well below 2-degrees Celsius above pre-industrial levels.”
Scenario analysis
Local Government Super conducted 2°C scenario analysis in 2014, which informed the fund’s first carbon sector exclusions. Further analysis was to be conducted in 2018. Disclosures to date have not included any quantitative assessments of value at risk under different climate change scenarios.
Local Government Super also discloses the carbon intensity of its portfolios annually.

Local Government Super discloses all of its proxy voting decisions in real time. The fund has supported 79% of climate-related shareholder resolutions since 2017.
