Calling for Paris-alignment
Mercer voted in favour of a 2019 shareholder resolution calling on AGL to reduce emissions and phase out coal power in line with the climate goals of the Paris Agreement. However, the fund has voted against other similar proposals at other companies.
Scenario analysis
Mercer’s 2015 study ‘Investing in a Time of Climate Change’ and its 2019 sequel provided detailed climate change scenario analysis. The study included a 2°C warming scenario, produced quantified data and included the entirety of a ‘reference’ portfolio.

Mercer discloses its proxy voting every 6 months. The fund voted FOR 60% of climate change-related resolutions from 2017 to 2019.
