We are at an important stage of the #StopAdani Campaign. A crucial period where Adani is racing against the clock to reach financial close and convince the Australian Government to fund its climate destruction. We are learning more and more about Adani’s shady business dealings, and it’s time to shed some light on these corporate villains working with Adani behind the scenes to get the Carmichael coal mine up and running.
On the 1st of November we are organising a walking tour of Melbourne where we will speak out about the companies on our very own doorstep who think they can get away with profiting from the biggest new coal mine in the world. These companies think that they can get a cut of putting the Great Barrier Reef at risk of even more serious devastation, and take no responsibility. We are going to show them otherwise.
We will meet at 11:45am at Collins Place (45 Collins St, City), the home of FIIG securities, a company which worked with Adani on their coal port purchase at Abbot Point, and we will end at Collins Square, where the offices of AECOM are located, the international engineering firm which hopes to build a railway line between the mine and the port and transport the dirty coal.
From there we will walk the Melbourne Convention Centre, where we will join Quit Coal and rally outside the International Mining Conference, where Jeyakumar “JJ” Janakaraj, the CEO on Adani Australia will be speaking!
It will be an amazing day to show how strongly Melbournians feel about stopping Adani!
Will you join us on November 1?
