Market Forces supports a YES vote in the upcoming referendum to recognise Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in the Constitution and establish an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Voice. We also support full implementation of the Uluru Statement from the Heart.

As an organisation working with communities to prevent financing of activities that would harm the environment and worsen global warming, Market Forces stands in solidarity with – and works to amplify the voices of – First Nations communities affected by environmentally damaging decisions taken by corporations and governments. We strongly believe First Nations Peoples should have a say in policy decisions that affect them.
We recognise that this referendum, and our support for a Yes vote, is not nearly all that is required to deliver First Nations justice. While it is an important step in the right direction, it must be followed up with substantive, structural change.
Market Forces will continue to find appropriate opportunities to support efforts towards First Nations justice, alongside our work seeking to drive finance and investment away from polluting fossil fuels.
